Knowledge is one of the least understood and most critical of project resources. The knowledge required to successfully manage a project is both more and less than that which is captured in the Project Manager’s Book of Knowledge. Successful project management requires more than understanding the process groups, being able to describe the components of the nine knowledge areas, or having the ability to formulate and track progress against a project plan. The knowledge required for each project is unique, and it is embodied, in varying degrees within each member of the project team.
